Spotlight: Harold (Hal) Datz

AKA Feather.
Harold joined our cross country bicycle team for only one segment, Astoria, OR to Lewiston, ID. During this time Harold has acquired the nickname, Feather due to his climbing speed shooting up the hills. As a token of our appreciation to Harold we honored him with a print to remind him of our times together on this bicycle ride and retired the nickname Feather.
Some interesting facts about Feather.
Age: 70
Occupation: Retired lawyer in October 2007 where Harold practiced and served for 43 years. Chief Council to the National Labor Relations Board, the primary federal agency for enforcing national labor laws. Currently adjunct professorships at Georgetown Law, George Washington Law and American University Law

o Former president of College of Law and Employment Lawyers
Interests: Classical music, jazz, reading history, American politics.

40 years of bicycle touring, most of them with his dear wife (deceased) Cycled New Zealand, Sierras, Canadian Rockies, France and Astoria, OR to Lewiston, ID. Upcoming cycling events include Bike Virginia 2008 and Biking across Washington,

Feather will be leaving our group tomorrow for other commitments. We will miss his pleasant company and his lightning climbs. Let the wind be at your back and your rides always safe.
